What is REVITALIZATION® and how does it work?

REVITALIZATION® is an energy-saving technology for protection and restoration of vehicles and mechanisms. It is a proprietary development of XADO company. The REVITALIZANT® component itself serves as a reaction catalyst. During the reaction, metal carbides are formed, followed by their diffusion into the operating surfaces of the mechanism.
As is known, atoms in solids are bound into a rigid structure called a crystal lattice. The movement of atoms inside the metal is characterized by small fluctuations. There is an insignificant probability of their leaving the crystal lattice. This process is described by the Boltzmann equation:
n = n0*e*(−E/kT)
where n0 is the initial concentration of atoms, E is the jump energy, k is the Boltzmann constant, and T is the temperature.
However, upon careful study, one can find a pattern of what will increase the probability of diffusion in solids. In the presence of additional energy and temperatures, an atom can leave its node. That is, the Boltzmann equation implies that the probability of diffusion grows exponentially as temperature increases.
There is also another rather complicated and interesting mechanism called the vacancy mechanism. To describe it, the concept of a vacancy density gradient is used similarly to the gas concentration gradient. Fick’s law of diffusion in solids:

where J is the diffusion flux, D is the diffusion coefficient, and N is the initial vacancy density.
When the crystal lattice of solids is disturbed, diffusion proceeds in the presence of “vacancies” which are various kinds of surface damages. In the presence of additional energy, the probability of the diffusion reaction will increase.
In short, the essence of REVITALIZATION® is as follows: during the operation of the mechanism, loads arise on friction pairs. In case of overloads, excess thermal energy is released, which is aimed at destruction, that is, wear of parts. If, however, REVITALIZANT® is introduced into the friction zone, it will promote the formation of metal carbides, which are used to create a new coating. The wear product generated as a result of the operation of the mechanism (various metal molecules formed through abrasive wear) and carbon molecules (taken from the lubricating material) are components for the formation of carbides. Thus, in the overloaded zone, conditions are created under which the energy of destruction turns into the energy of creation! The overloaded zone will be the one most susceptible to wear and in need of restoration. That is why REVITALIZANT® has such a good effect on the mechanisms.
Let’s consider an example.
A defect has been made on the bearing raceway using an engraving cutter. It should be noted that such defects are modeled “with a margin” in magnitude, i.e., are several times larger than those that can appear on the surface of the part during actual operation. Such a defect acts as a concentrator and can lead to the destruction of the part.
The bearing is packed with XADO Repairing Grease intended for units with severe (up to 80%) wear.
Fragment of the bearing raceway. The original factory surface is rough, with deep marks from the grinding tool. In the center, one can see a point defect (crater) specially made for testing and measuring more than 0.5 mm in diameter and up to 0.7 mm in depth.
The bearing is treated with the grease and then operated under load on a special installation with a force of 8,000 N at a speed of 1,000 rpm for 15 minutes.
During the operation of the bearing, the actual REVITALIZATION® occurs, that is, elimination of the defect on the friction surface through the formation of a protective ceramic-metal coating. The result of the experiment is illustrated by the photographs.
The same section of the bearing treated with XADO Repairing Grease after 15 minutes of operation under load. The surface modified with the ceramic-metal coating is smooth and glassy. The factory grinding marks are completely gone. On the border of the crater, swells have formed reminiscent of snow drifts along the edges of a ravine. It is clearly visible that the elimination of the defect occurs in the direction from the edges to the center, gradually filling the crater.
The completion of the REVITALIZATION® process is clearly visible in the last photo. This perfectly demonstrates the excellent regenerative properties of the composition.
